Ok well watch out for sharks. Folks or companies
that take you money, promise you stardom or distribtion or contacts and give you sweet F.A.
Get it, got it, good. Here's a brief summary of businesses that have been classified as Sharks,
and/or have "caution" written all over them:

"Adam Knight Music Group" was a radio promoter
listed in the Indie Contact Newsletter, who then had calls from
people that feel that they have been ripped off. There are a lot of
complaints lodged at the Better Business Bureau as well.
If you have any complaints about Adam Knight's service,
send them to Dave Butcher at CRMusic@CarolynRichards.net Dave is gathering evidence to take legal action.

Amerecord: Located in Hollywood next door to...
(Both these companies sent unsolicited packets to
Cookie Cutter Girl in the mail, requesting money.)

Hilltop Records: Both these organizations want
you to pay to have them put you on a CD,
which they then "market" to the people that
paid to be on the CD in the first place!
(My personal favorites for Shark of the Decade)

Paramount Music Group: Located in Nashville,
these guys have been a major source of Bad Press
in the old Shark Board. Steer clear!

MBM Records: Fairly recent addition to the pool.
A visit to their site will be self-explanatory http://www.mbmrecords.org -Post a red flag;
swim at your own risk.

Artists Development Network: I couldn't find that much about them, but a member of Tunesmith
was told that they could have a marketable demo
and be pitched in Nashville for $4,000.
That's a Red flag to me! Shark...?

(That's where they get contact info from.)

At first this seems like a great idea:
sell your mp3s directly from your website.
But this website is a total scam.
They have no phone number. Their address is phony. And they never let you quit once you subscribe.
This is a very shady operation: PAYLOADZ
